September in Burgas festivals, cinema, sports

With plenty of sunshine and more events on the Municipality's cultural and sporting calendar, September is one of the best months to visit Burgas.
Additionally, there are a lot of festivals on the program this year. Every event in the Municipality's cultural calendar lends credence to Burgas' bid to be the 2032 European Capital of Culture. The Fish and Wine Festival, which is already a traditional event, will take place in front of the Flora Exhibition Center from September 4 to September 8. Enjoy mouthwatering seafood, wine bars, culinary demonstrations, music, dance, and performance by more than 200 artists.



The amazing musical program that will have everyone dancing and having a good time is as follows: Sept. 4: Ork. Karandila Sakis Verros on September 5th, Sept. 6: Mimi Ivanova, Obraten Efekt, Sept. 7 DesiSlava on September 8. Free admission is available on all festival days.

A new event is also planned for this same weekend: the first KALATA Festival of Comedy and Laughter will take place in Burgas from September 5 to 8. The festival, which honors the 100th anniversary of the birth of two of Bulgaria's most cherished comedians, Georgi Kaloyanchev and Georgi Partsalev, will unite theater, cinema, circus, and street art in one location. Alek Popov, another well-known Bulgarian writer who died too young, will also be honored at the festival. The movie "Mission London" by filmmaker Dimitar Mitovski will be shown in his honor. All attendees will be admitted free of charge to the festivities, which will take place in the NHK Cultural Center and on the outdoor stage Ohlyuva.


Contemporary Arts Festival VODA 2025 returns with another edition, which will also cover the month of October. From September 1 to 4, Troikata Square and Asen Zlatarov Community Center will be hot spots with art installations, performances and an exhibition. The program will also feature prominent international artists.


Five hundred people have already committed to the eighth edition of the Burgas Run! It is scheduled to begin at 8:00 on Sunday, September 14. On September 14, we look forward to working with you to deliver yet another memorable athletic event by the sea. There is still time to register.

More sport and health awaits all residents and guests of Burgas in the period September 13-14. Then, the "Hello, Health" festival will be held in the spaces of the "Flora" Exhibition Center with many activities and interesting discussions.


And if you are a fan of good music, don't miss another new festival title - "Musical Iconographers". The event will take place from September 15 to 19 at the "Sea Casino" Cultural Center. It's time for a movie! Not one, but two film festivals are anchoring in Burgas. The largest forum for international historical documentary cinema – DOCK International Documentary Historical Film Festival will be held in Burgas for 5 days – from 17 to 22 September 2025. DOCK offers an official competition program with ten films.
During the festival, producers, directors and screenwriters from all over the world will be guests, and access for viewers to all screenings is completely free.


"I Love Burgas" is one of the most popular concerts in the city by the sea, and it will take place on September 20. The Mary Boys Band, Veneamin, vocal group Deja Vu, Russi Rusen, David Minalnov, and others will take the stage at the Summer Theater at 8:00 p.m. The "Clock" box office is where tickets can be purchased.
