During underwater explorations in Botamyata Bay, south of Sinemorets, where there is a magnificent beach, ceramic fragments from the 5th-4th centuries BC were discovered - evidence that there was an ancient and medieval settlement. Sinemorets had a very long life, because anchors, lead hoops and other archaeological finds from the Middle Ages have been found in the same bay. There is a small fortress on the peninsula itself, and on the highest part above the right bank of the river Veleka - a large Thracian mound, during the excavation of which gold ornaments were found.

The fast growing tourist settlement has three large beaches. The high and rocky coast at the southern end hides beautiful unspoilt spots.
To the north of the village is the mouth of the r. Veleka and in front of it there is a wide bay. At its confluence the river forms a sandy spit. This is the famous beach "Kosata" , i.e. the northern beach of Sinemorets. To the northeast of the hamlet is the bay "St. Jani" and the locality "The Ships". The whole area south of Sinemorets to Rezovo is a protected area "Silistar" with a preserved longleaf forest where protected birds nest. To the south of Butamata you can reach Lipite Bay with a beautiful beach, the Canyon area with characteristic rock formations (the Rock of Sisyphus, the Cave of the Pigeons and the Split Rock), Cape Listy and Listy Bay.
The area south of Sinemorets to the village of Rezovo is occupied by the protected area of Silistar. It is a coastal wetland with preserved typical longleaf forest. Rare and protected birds nest on the dunes and cliffs around Silistar. South of Sinemorets - in today's protected area of Silistar, there was a settlement called Silistar, Silistar Yurt or just Yurt (Yurt).

The best beach near Sinemorets is definitely Silistar. The nice thing is that the first 50 meters are considerably shallow. The bay of Silistar is incredibly beautiful. The sea here is calm and quiet, the bottom is gently sloping and the sea water is crystal clear. The beach is about a kilometre long and about 50 metres wide. The sand is fine and golden. Silistar was declared a protected area in 1992 by the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment. Rare and protected birds nest on the dunes and rocks around: imperial eagle, golden eagle, black stork, turtle dove and others, many of which are listed in the Red Book. The sand lily grows on the beach.
The northern beach, i.e. the mouth of the river Veleka. Incredibly clean and beautiful place. However, it is deep there, it is suitable for swimming and diving and it does not appeal to everyone, so fewer people go.
