New ferry between Burgas and Istanbul

The ferry between Burgas Bulgaria and Istanbul Turkey will depart in 2025.

On 24 June 2025, Turkish shipping company IDO Istanbul Deniz Otobüsleri will launch a ferry service on modern catamarans between Istanbul and Burgas.

According to IDO director Murat Orhan, the flights will operate three times a week during the summer months. The catamaran will depart from the port of Burgas towards Istanbul at 8:00 am and the return trip will start at 3:00 pm.

The new line is expected to generate serious tourist interest. The new ferry line is expected to significantly facilitate tourism and trade between Bulgaria and Turkey.

The new ferry line between Turkish Istanbul and Bulgarian Burgas will have an intermediate stop in the Turkish resort of Igneada. This was announced by Bulgarian Ambassador to Ankara Angel Cholakov during a visit to the Bulgarian stand at the 28th Eastern Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (EMITT 2025).

The new ferry service is expected to significantly facilitate tourism and trade between Bulgaria and Turkey by providing a convenient and fast sea connection between the two cities. Igneada, which is famous for its natural beauty and beaches, will become an additional attractive stopover for travellers.
