Burgas airport put a record for the number of serviced passengers per day.



The international airport Burgas Sarafovo is the busiest airport in Bulgaria in summer. There are four airports in Bulgaria, except Bourgas in Varna, Sofia and Plovdiv.
The record for the number of passengers at the airport in Bulgaria per day was reached at Burgas airport in the summer of 2016 in July, when 39,836 passengers were served a day. In 2016 the number of passengers served at the airport was 2,878,883 million. At Burgas Airport 20,873 flights were served and 2016 was the most successful year for the airport. From the airport you can easily reach by car to Sunny Beach, Chernomorets, Aheloy, Nessebar, Ravda, Elenite, Obzor, Sozopol, just follow the signs from the airport. Most travelers were from Russia (growth of 40%) and then comes Great Britain (an increase of 11%) and Germany (an increase of 43%).

The most popular destinations to Burgas airport BOJ are Moscow (Russia), Tel Aviv (Israel), London (United Kingdom), Prague (Czech Republic), St. Petersburg (Russia). 13 new airlines performed flights to and from the airport.
The summer schedule included 19 new destinations to Russia, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Greece and Italy.

Due to the renovation the airport Burgas was closed from October 31 to December 30. On December 31 the airport resumed its work after the completion of the repair.
